Sir Aron ap Rhys ap Bledri Latimer ap Cydsifor Fawr was born say 1130. [1]

Knight of the Sepulchre

He married Gwenllian, daughter of Ednyfed Vachan. [2]

Sir Aron was the son of Rhys ap Bledri and Angharad ferch Llywelyn Ddiriaid.[3][4]

Lewys Dwnn's heraldic visitations of Wales, made between 1586 and 1613, records that he was a Knight of the Sepulchre ("Marchog Bedd Krist"). He is said to have gone to Jerusalem in the crusade with Richard I of England (which occurred in 1189 to 1192).[4]

His wife was Gwenllian ferch Ednyfed Fychan of Anglesey.[3][4]

Research Notes

Philip Gwys of Wiston had a daughter, Gwenllian, she married Gwgan ap Bleddynn. Their children were:

Ap Rhys-81 and Ap Rhys-61 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles are of Sir Aron ap Rhys, Knight of the Sepulchre, who went to Jerusalem in the third crusade with King Richard I.

note - Dwnn spelled son's name "Gwilim", but "Gwilym" is correct spelling.
